ProvidentCRM Customer LGMA WIN at Ireland Egov Awards

Press Release:

ProvidentCRM Customer LGMA wins at Ireland eGovernment Awards 2016

The Ireland eGovernment Awards in association with eir Business honour the pioneering work of public sector teams who are delivering better online services to Irish citizens today. They are the only awards of their kind in Ireland that reward leadership and innovation in eGovernment. The awards are open to public sector departments, local authorities and state agencies as well as private sector companies who partner with the public sector on eGovernment projects.

Open Source

The Open Source category recognises contribution and participation in an open source project. This participation could be through utilising open source software, core software development, testing of the resulting product or service, contribution to the documentation of the open source project or by providing support services. This award goes beyond the simple use of an open source package and recognises real, practical participation in an open source project or community.

This year it was Provident CRM’s customer LGMA who was awarded the coveted prize for the BCMS system implemented by Provident CRM.

A little bit about the LGMA

The Local Government Management Agency (LGMA) is a state agency of the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government established in 2012 to provide a range of services to the Local Government Sector.

The Agency was created through the merger of the Local Government Computer Services Board, Local Government Management Services Board and An Comhairle Leabharlanna.

The LGMA provides a range of services within the context of its statutory remit, in support of co-ordinated and cost effective delivery of Local Government services and policy.

A little bit about the BCMS

On the 1st March 2014, new regulations (S.I. 9 of 2014) relating to the commencement and certification of construction works come into effect in Ireland. For certain building works, the new regulations require that certificates of compliance and other documents must be submitted with the Commencement Notice.

The Building Control Management System (BCMS) will work as electronic building control administration. Building Control Regulations provide for matters of procedure, administration and control for the purposes of securing the implementation of the requirements of the Building Regulations and of demonstrating how compliance with such requirements has been achieved in relation to the building or works concerned.

With this new national Building Control Management System everything from plans, specifications, particulars, to the preliminary inspection plan can be uploaded to the BCMS. In addition, the online assessment of the proposed approach to compliance with the Building Regulations is also done through the BCMS. The BCMS will allow building owners nominate an Assigned Certifier, and a Builder for the development works. The BCMS will also allow the Owner, Assigned Certifier, and the Builder to fill out the required Notices and Certificates online.
