Sugar Sell & Sugar Serve 10.1.0 Latest Release (Q3 2020)

In this article I am going to share the latest feature enhancements released in SugarCRM’s ‘Sugar Sell & Sugar Serve’ applications.

Since the release I have played around with some of the new features and I wanted to share them with you.

Purchases (Sell & Serve)

There are two new modules called Purchases and Purchased Line Items that consist of purchases and purchase line item records that represent the products or services that your customers have bought from you.

Purchases and Purchased Line Items can either be created manually in Sugar Sell/Serve or automatically generated from the Revenue Line Items associated with an Opportunity.

This data will provide a historic and time-aware overview of the status and value of your Accounts, your Customers.

The Active Subscriptions Dashlet that is currently available, will now be looking at the data in the Purchases and Purchased Line Items modules.

Opportunities and Revenue Line Items (Sell Only)

This one is one of my favourite enhancements, we are now able to update all Revenue Line Items associated with an Opportunity, by updating the Opportunity. This means we no longer need to update every single line item against an Opportunity, to change the Opportunity status or expected close date! - Much less admin work for us! Once the fields have been updated on the opportunity as per the screen below, they will ‘push’ these values to the related Revenue Line Items!

Sometimes I have 10+ Revenue Line Items on an Opportunity, this means I no longer need to update each one individually, just to update my Opportunity! 😀

Workforce Management (Sell & Serve)

Another module has been added called ‘Shifts’ along with a supporting module called ‘Shift Exceptions’ these modules give you the ability to define working hours of your staff.

Within the Shifts module you create the working hours of your staff/team’s Shift. As per the screen below.

Shift exceptions represent the time’s when they are not at work, this could be Annual Leave, at an Event or just Shift time off. If using this in conjunction with SugarBPM’s Round Robin, these modules will ensure that the round-robin assigned records are only given to users who are at work, and have enough time to complete the task.

So some scenarios could be:

Sales Team: New Lead Assignment - Jim is the next person on your Round Robin lead assignment, he is on annual leave tomorrow, a new lead has been entered into Sugar Sell at 4.30pm, this will not be assigned to Jim it will go to the next Round Robin assignee.

Customer Support Team: Your customer Support Team may work in Shift Patterns, 7am - 2pm, 2pm - 6pm and so on. If a customer ticket comes in to Sugar Serve at 1pm, this will be assigned to the next person on the next shift, as generally more than 1 hour is needed to resolve that type of case that came in.

When using SugarBPM to assign records, the below image shows how this is set up:

The above features are what I wanted to share, there are more features that have been added such as:

  • Email Notification on comment Log mentions
  • Additional configurable system email templates
  • Clickable hyperlinks in text area fields
  • Console Management Features
  • And more!
